Father in heaven, let the ultimate bliss of anticipating heaven far outweigh the present gloom. Hope is the balm to all scars from the past. Redemption wrought through the cross is the sweetest consolation to a weary soul. To know it is well because You, Jesus, declared it is finished moves my heart toward reconciliatory rest. May my feeble efforts at love become buoyed by remembrance of Your sacrificial example. Make my eyes fixate on the eternal horizon, Lord God. The tendency to dwell on present threats of storm only robs me of the peace You so lovingly secured. Jesus, my Savior, in You I see my sin cast out, my body of death destroyed and my soul made perfect. Truly I can do all things, including weather any storm, because Christ is my strength. I now see with an enlightened heart whose gaze does not falter from the celestial light of a final destination and a true beginning. Hush my doubts. Be still my sorrows. The Lord has calmed the storm. There is no fear in His love where I rest secure, knowing that my future, my present and my past is in His hands. Under the Word given in Psalm 31:14-16 and the authority of Christ, my King, I bow in humble prayer.
But I trust in You, Yahweh.
I said, “You are my God.”
My times are in Your hand.
Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me.
Make Your face to shine on your servant.
Save me in Your loving kindness.
