Today’s Prayer

When I contemplate the heavens and wonders of Your majesty, Lord God, my heart responds in worship. When I consider the magnitude of creation and the reliability of the days given to humankind, my soul cannot help but adore You in gratitude. In the deep wounds of my dying Savior, I see the imprint of the Great I AM. In the complex simplicity of the gospel, I hear the eternal whispers of love incorruptible. My confidence can be set on nothing less than the righteousness of my blessed Savior. My soul’s reliance intertwined with the work of the cross births faith that abides. Jesus, my One and only, who saw my distress and answered the call, I cling to You in fellowship with God the Father and the Spirit. Link me eternally to the Ancient of days. Set me as a seal upon Your heart. There is no greater gift than the pardon with which I find freedom, life, liberty and reconciliation with my God. Thank You Lord for this day. Let my heart rejoice for You have ordained it, come what may. My trust is and always will be in Your love and sovereign will. Under the blessed Word of the Lord found in Proverbs 3:5-6 and the authority of Christ Jesus I come to the altar in a posture of prayer.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to Him,
    and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6, NIV

  1. Having recently lost my beloved husband, this sentence really stands out to me:

    “Jesus, my One and only, who saw my distress and answered the call, I cling to You in fellowship with God the Father and the Spirit.”

    Jesus does not leave me alone, but is with me always. Praise Him!
