Lord God, You are my pasture maker. When I wandered in the wilderness, You not only found me, You led me out. Your righteousness covers my naked soul. Your salvation provides the nourishment faith alone can offer my rebel heart. Your grace is astonishing. Despite my murmurs and complaints, You met me in the darkness. When my carnal desires tempted me to turn back, You wooed me toward truth. Your hand opened the rock of Your Word until understanding poured out. Your indwelling Spirit fed my hunger for daily wisdom when I had sense enough to gather it. You showered me with mercy divine by covering my iniquities with Your precious shed blood of pardon. When I don’t know where to go, I have only to look toward Your rod and staff for comfort. As I survey the future horizon, the glory of Your unending promise rises like the sun, sure and steadfast and reliable. You, who have lived and pardoned, have made a way for me, a home and a place where I belong. So when the journey takes a turn and wilderness becomes the valley of death’s shadow, I will not fear but rejoice as I set my gaze resolutely on the sunrise of eternity. And I will thank You Lord that not even death can separate me from Your incorruptible love. Beneath the blessed Word of truth in Jeremiah 29:13 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.
You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13, NIV
