Lord, empower Your servant to see the present realities through the filter of faith. The kaleidoscope of sorrows makes it difficult to focus on You, Your love, Your grace, Your majesty. Sometimes it feels as if the depths of this world’s depravity has a pull so strong that it tethers the buoyant joy in the Spirit which makes my soul soar. Deceit eclipses my heart’s ability to set sights on heaven. Help me to remain as one untainted by the thick fog of deceit. Even though it touches me outwardly, with faith as my shield it need not reach my soul. In You Jesus, I walk the path of truth. In You there is comfort that the world cannot understand. Because I am Your child, the tree buds tenderness and compassion from the deepest of woes. Spark the flame of grace within me Lord, until emblazoned with compassion for the plight of this world, not fear or contempt for its evil ways. Show me how to love in truth that leads to life, not tolerance that ends in destruction. Only Your holy guidance and divine empowering can protect my faith from failing. No one comes to You unless You draw them to Yourself. Use me as Your magnet whenever You see fit, Lord. I am gratefully delighted to be Yours. Under the Word of God set down in John 14:6 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
