Holy Father, keeper of my soul, do what You must to break the frosty ice of apathy stretching like a frozen tundra across my weary heart. Affliction has brought on pain. Pain has prompted a response of self-defense that looks like indifference. Let it not be so, Lord. Blow Your holy, fiery passion into my life again until the cross is all I see. Until Your grace is the only thing I feel, I entreat You to send forth whatever You must to get my attention. I make no stipulation as to the manner or method – as frightening as that plea can be. Awaken me to the smile of divine love regardless of who You use to minister that. The power of Your love is mighty and effectual to arouse my sluggish life. Move me with the holy breath of resurrection power. Make me respond to the presence of redemption, to the gift You have purchased for me. Your Word is life, Lord Jesus. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives within me. Forgive me for quenching Your Spirit. Exercise Your grace until the sweet fragrance of Christ permeates everything I do, bringing Your love to life inside of me again. Under the mighty Word of God set down in Galatians 2:20 and the authority of Christ I pray.
I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself up for me.
