My sweet and precious Savior, let me never take for granted the nearness of Your presence. Let Your promise not to forsake me be an anchor to my wavering faith in times of adversity. When I am jaded and weary from my interactions in this world, what solace I find when I remember that the door of fellowship with my King is always open. The veil has been torn. Jesus is with me in every battle. Let me delight in Your presence, Lord. Without You and Your heavenly provision, my soul would perish of hunger and thirst. If the light of Your love is not my focus, the shadows of selfish concerns will cast a dark filter on this world I live in. Stumbling without Your beacon of hope guiding me, how can I find my way, let alone lead others to You? Jesus, my world would be a howling, frightening wilderness if I didn’t have You as my Shepherd. Surely, I would stumble into many a pit. If the brightness of Your truth is eclipsed by lies I have agreed to, the deception will plummet me into outer darkness where the flower of my soul withers, the fruit of my life rots, and belief shrivels like a plant in the midst of drought. Let it not be so, Lord. May such precarious imaginings remind me how precious Your love is, how priceless Your nearness is. May I never take for granted the awesome privilege of prayer. Let me meet with You in this space every moment of my days. Drawing near to You because You have made Yourself accessible through faith is the fullest measure of Your saving grace. Under the beauty of the Word in James 4:8 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners. Purify your hearts, you double-minded.
