Jesus, You are everything good and true and pure. Within me there is so much lack. In every relationship there is disappointment and irreconcilable differences. Yet with You there is only perfection. In You, contentment in its purest form is realized. Even the best of Your followers have blots and stains upon their garments. The wrinkled fabric of selfish inclination mars the eternal perspective despite all that You gladly bestow upon us – the pure white linen reflective of You. Jesus, You are the most lovely, the most everything. Glory without cloudiness. Light without darkness. Gold without alloy. Though I walk through the wilderness of this world, Your presence makes my heart burn within me until the chaff is destroyed. Truly, Your thoughts are far greater and Your sight far more penetrating than my own. May the cord of salvation bind my heart with holiness. May the grace extended to my daily adoration be sweetened with affection. I delight to bow before You, sitting at Your feet and anointing You with whatever is most precious to my worldly existence. Let me give up whatever You ask of me. For even the wealthiest person is stricken with poverty if they do not have You, Jesus. My Savior, fasten my heart as a seal upon Your arm of power. Your grip is sure. Though I wiggle, wrestle and resist at times, I can find solace in the fact that You will not let me go. Be the object of my love, Jesus. Teach me how to live better. Your superlative perfection is eternally attractive to my soul. Only You can finish what You have started in me. Under the mighty Word of holy truth in Philippians 1:6 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
