Today’s Prayer

Let the nobler pondering of eternal bliss occupy the mind of the Lord’s beloved. By Your Spirit, those who belong to Jesus contend wholeheartedly against the evil’s lurking in this world, the shadowy temptations that lead hearts prone to wander astray. May my daily walk be steeped in faithfully devoted steps. May my heart be severed from the vain and noisy world to which my soul has become a foreigner. Lord, renew my mind in the transforming power of eternal contemplation that fosters true joy. I do not want to give You a profession of religion that is a mere delusion. Fill my heart with holy affection and zeal for truth. Let me contemplate, through the filter of faith, the infinite loveliness of my Savior. Fire up holy love that warms my deepest affections. Your Word grants me glimpses of uncreated glories stirring up the gladness of promises kept and grace that redeems. The embittering power of sin cannot banefully influence the soul belonging to Christ. Under the glorious reign of my Savior, there is freedom. Thank You, Lord, for hearing the anguished cry of my soul. Thank You for disrupting the corrupting influences of my sin-bent nature. Keep my eyes focused on the unutterable glory of the home You prepare for me in heaven. Under the mighty truth of the Word in 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 and the authority of Christ Jesus I pray.

For though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience when your obedience is made full.
