As a pilgrim sojourning in a world where I never belonged, my heart is grateful that You have remedied the alienation from within, Jesus. Your divine display on the cross sifted through my shame and guilt. Your gospel of truth collided in full force with the deceit built up as a siege works against my soul. Your light of grace illuminated every dark shadow of rebellion until faith made its mark and Your power made me new. Let me not be half-hearted in my service or devotion, Lord. Let me praise You with the fullness of heart that You deserve. Let me worship You with total abandon, rejecting myself and living to Your glory. Because of Your finished work, I can claim my citizenship in heaven. Where once I loathed the loneliness of being unknown and a stranger, now I delight in its implications. I would give up a thousand castles here on earth if only to be a lowly beggar in Your Kingdom, Jesus. It is Your mighty hand that has untied my soul from its earthly tether. It is the eternal beat of Your heart that beckons me home. Tune my ears to the supernatural call. Remind me daily that this is not my home. According to Your will, let me take each step in the Spirit’s power and grace. May any who follow me be brought alongside You. Under the Word given in 1 Corinthians 11:1 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in humble prayer.
