INTERVIEW:
How long have you been writing? How many books or series have you published?
I’ve writing since the early 2000s and published since 2011. In that time, I’ve released 25 books with a couple more coming this year!
What inspired you to write? How does your faith impact your writing?
A generations-old family story inspired me to start writing. The story goes that a many-greats grandfather was a Muscogee chief called Red Eagle who saved his people from pursuit by General Andrew Jackson. I wanted to see that history in story form. So I wrote it. Okay, so it didn’t turn out quite like the history goes, but it ended up being my signature series. You can read The Red Feather for free on Amazon!
A life-long Christian, I’ve found it very difficult to NOT include our Savior in my stories. It feels unnatural when I try, as if I’m trying to be someone I’m not. It’s definitely a calling, one I’ve always been honored to carry out.
Do you have a favorite author or book? Why is that your favorite?
It might be cliche, but Mark of the Lion is my favorite Christian Fiction series. The writing is sort of old school in the best way, and the storytelling is beyond stellar.
What is your favorite genre to read/write?
I enjoy Biblical Fiction for what I learn from it, but for putting my brain on neutral, I go to clean romantasy.
What do you like most about what you do? What are your biggest challenges?
The thing I like best about being a Christian Fiction writer is getting lost in the imaginary worlds that exist in my head–and getting paid to do it! My biggest challenge is being patient with out slowly I write. It’s just how my brain works, but there are stories in my head that are begging to get out…and they have to wait for my slow brain. 😉
Do you have a favorite character in your most recent release?
Oddly enough, General Nebuzaradan is my favorite. He’s the biblical figure who destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. Called the Butcher of Babylon, he’s not your typical hero, more of an antihero. But he’s genuine and dedicated, and he loves Liora with a passion rivaled only by her passion for Yahweh.
What are you working on now? What can we expect in the future?
For the next few weeks, I’ll be finishing up the third book in my Yoke of Babylon series, a story set during Babylon’s destruction of Jerusalem and the last deportation of Jews to Babylon. It’s political intrigue plus slow burn romance that I’ve enjoyed writing far too much! I plan to write 1-2 more stories in this same series but featuring side characters instead of the main two who’ve featured in the last three books.
Do you have any fun facts to mention? (what is your go-to snack when writing/reading? Daily habits…)
Fun fact: I’m blind as a bat but refuse to wear my glasses in the morning until after I’ve had my coffee. My quiet little rebellion over having to climb out of a comfy bed. If I can’t see the day, it hasn’t started yet, right?? 🙂 Needless to say, there are lots of stubbed toes…
What would you like to say to readers? (What do you hope readers take-away from your book?)
My prayer is always that my stories lead readers back into the Word. For example, to learn more about General Nebuzaradan (start in Jeremiah 39!).

Book Blurb:
In the ashes of conquest, love becomes the boldest rebellion.
As Babylonian soldiers prod the last wave of exiles from Jerusalem, Liora is set apart, chosen for a purpose that terrifies her more than all the war machines in Babylon. With her fate tangled in politics, prophecy, and her people’s distrust, every step away from Jerusalem draws her deeper into the plots of conniving men.
Liora and her God have awakened something in General Nebuzaradan he cannot silence. He is no stranger to conquest, but extricating Liora from a perilous entanglement will test not his blade, but his cunning. And this time, it’s not a city he must conquer, but a love and a future he dares to claim.
He took the city. She took his heart. Yahweh will have his soul.
