Lord my God, though sorrows ebb and frustrations flow, all such melancholic proclivities subside in Your presence. When my heart is in Your hands I do not fear its tendency to waver. Your divine touch within the moments of my life keep me steady. And though my eyes are dimmed by a filter of selfish intent, Your love opens my eyes, Lord Jesus. There is beauty unseen in this world unless the life You lived among us is reflected upon. Only You can lift up my voice, Lord God. Put words into my heart until my lips speak Your truth and sing Your praise. Sanctify my thoughts with unfaltering devotion to honor and glorify Your Name. How I long to be enveloped in the infinite delight of eternity. In the here and now we have but a glimpse of the summit that awaits every believing heart. Let Your servant not weary in the labor no matter how ill-received by the brethren. For I bow to only One in whose Name I trust. I humble myself before You, Almighty God, for whatever task You ordained for this present season. And when the flower finally fades, the birds have quieted their song, and the light of day is shortened bring me into Your arms, Jesus, where the eternal Sabbath joyfully begins, where the seasons have no end and where fatigue and weariness, sorrow and sighing, are mere shadows of the time before. Under the Word of truth set down in Isaiah 51:11 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in grateful prayer.
Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.
Isaiah 51:11, NIV
