Today’s Prayer

Lord of all creation, transplant the majestic, divine nature of who You are into my heart. There is sediment that lies at the bottom of my soul which is easily stirred up by the enemy, causing me to darken the radiance of Your Spirit within me until it no longer shines as it should. Cleanse me, Father, as only You can. Take me into the explosive joy of salvation that is Christ’s inheritance for all who believe. Draw me near to the depths of Your unfettered, unsullied, perfect presence every day, my Lord. Convert me into Your likeness, God. Change me into a vessel of Kingdom worth. Empty me of the sediment of self that corrupts my ability to love You to the fullest measure of Your worth. Since You are everything to me, make me anything useful to You. My truest desire is to glorify You, my King. Under the Word of truth found in 1 John 2:7-8 and the authority of Christ, I pray this glorious day.

My dear friends, I’m not writing anything new here.
This is the oldest commandment in the book, and you’ve known it from day one.
It’s always been implicit in the Message you’ve heard.
On the other hand, perhaps it is new,
freshly minted as it is in both Christ and you—
the darkness on its way out and the True Light already blazing!
1 John 2:7-8, MSG
