My god and King of my heart, let Your revelatory mercy show me more of who You are. I am perpetually burdened by the heavy weight of my inclination toward self. I am too easily distracted with emotions revolving around me. There is a yearning desire burning within that longs to be more like You, Jesus. You have ransomed my captive soul in order that I might be brought into a loving covenantal communion with my God. Bring me into this divine fellowship through praise, through prayer and through worship. Let nothing hinder my pursuit of knowing You more. Let my own selfishly inclined barriers to leaning into You beyond my own understanding be removed. Develop my fragile trust, Lord. Redesign the inner workings of my mind to think only of things that please You. Lead me in the way of righteousness until the trumpet calls me home. Under the mighty power of Your Word in Psalm 9:8 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I lay these prayers at the feet of my King.
