My Lord, You are the gardener of my heart. I beseech You to plow the soil that fertilizes my soul. Make me ready, Jesus, for the planting of the seeds which will grow to display Your splendor. Cast sweet truth that grows upward in soaring hope and downward in rooted faith at the same time by binding me in You now and always through incorruptible love. Let my faith flourish above the perplexities of this life so that all can see how good You are. Let the roots of my adoration dig deep until I am fully nourished by the Living Water which anchors my soul to eternity. Strengthen me, my Lord, so that I do not wither away. Shield me from the scorching sun of adversity. Soften the ground of my heart through the tendrils of grace despite the mistreatment I endure from this world. Energize me with Your Spirit so that growth is not shallow or superficial but deep and abiding. Bring a harvest through this life as only You can, Lord God. Water me in Your Word. Grow me in Your mercy. Prune me in Your presence. Harvest me in hope. I am Your planting for the display of Your splendor. Under the mighty Word of Isaiah 61:3 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
To bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes,
the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor.
