My Lord and my God, hush the murmuring discontent of my purposeless soul without You. Let me find my purpose in You, Jesus. Help me embrace the discipline that refines me into Your likeness. My heart is a conglomeration of thistles and thorns. With Your gardening hand, till the soil until I am made ready for the planting of Your Word. Cultivate the serenity of heaven within me. Make clear the path that will take me deep into Your heart. It is the secret place that I long to dwell. It is the meadow of contented holiness that beckons me. My Lord, bring me to the other side of the mystery where the fullness of love purposes my soul and holy contentment blossoms in my heart. Under the mighty power of Your Word in Psalm 9:1-2 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I humbly pray.
I will praise You, Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done.
I will be filled with joy because of You.
I will sing praises to Your Name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1-2, NLT
My Lord and my God, hush the murmuring discontent of my purposeless soul without You. Let me find my purpose in You, Jesus.
This is a good phrase–when murmuring, we need to examine our soul and rediscover God’s purpose for us.
