My Lord and King, make me ever watchful of the devourer’s schemes. Armor me, my Lord, for the battle that I am too often oblivious to. For the flame of my devotion to You, Jesus, is too easily snuffed out by distractions causing lukewarmness within me. Let it not be so, my Lord. Be my rear guard in the holiest of moments so that the darkness of temptation does not steal any ground. Take every thought captive to obedience by the power of Your grace. Move every boundary stone that thwarts the consecration of the Spirit within me. Grant me endurance which enables Your teaching to be the jewel that glistens within every trial. Raise me up in Your Name, my Lord. It is for Your glory that my life is lived. Under the Word of truth in Psalm 89:19 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

I think these are interesting ideas–the battles we are oblivious to- distractions that cause us to be lukewarm.
