Blessed be the God of my comfort who tends to me in my most grievous state. Lord, transmit Your holiness unto me, Your lowly servant in need of grace. There is a melancholic delight in knowing that the peculiar aggravations of my rebellion have been imputed to You on the cross. There is a sorrowful joy in realizing that my Savior took the place of my punishment. How could my iniquity be Your burden? How could Your grace become my salvation? Such merciful, divine love is too lofty for my dirty soul to fathom. Yet, in the cleansing of the purest blood flowing from the cross, I am made clean so that my eyes can see the beauty of God’s plan and my ears can hear the whisper of a new covenant. Let me enter in with complete abandon, my Lord, because I delight to be Your betrothed. Let me give all in complete surrender to Your Lordship because nothing but Your incorruptible love will protect me, nourish me, guide me and grow me. Under the beautiful majesty of Your Word in Revelation 21:5-7 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
Then the One seated on the throne said,
“Look! I am making everything new.”
He also said, “Write, because these words are faithful and true.”
And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega,
the Beginning and the End. I will give water as a gift to the thirsty
from the spring of life. The victor will inherit these things,
and I will be his God, and he will be My son.”
Revelation 21:5-7, HCSB
