My God, meet me in the secret place where I can reveal my heart-breaking iniquity to You. Secure me beneath the covering of Your wings so that my vulnerability is protected by the shield of divine love. I look to You for strength in the wrestling inside myself. Though I desire righteousness, my own nature often compels me toward that which is contrary to You. Make prayer my weapon against the onslaught of thoughts which lead me into temptation. Make my eyes see through the lens of faith not through the filter of this world. By the power of Your Spirit, enable me to trust You more, God. Equip me to take back the stolen ground of my heart in this war against myself. Let me hold Your mighty promises as a banner over me. Let me cling to the cross as an anchor for my soul. Uplift Your beloved with hope, Father. I run to You for shelter. Quiet the noise of my selfishness so that I can walk in the pace of Your righteousness. Under the promise of Psalm 91:1-4 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
Surely He will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers,
