Lord, bring an end to the weary wandering of my reckless heart. Let me feast on the divine delicacies of Your holy presence. Father, I yield to You with unfettered delight until my faith becomes the sight which allows me to look with joy upon Your unfolding will for this life. Cheer me with hopeful thoughts of eternal rest and endless days when the battle will be over. Lift me from the mire of defeating musings by turning my mind toward the unshackled freedom offered in Christ. Banish the fear that makes me shudder with paralyzed love by bringing to my remembrance the truth that You have come to my rescue and victory is assured. I believe, Lord Jesus. Help me overcome my unbelief birthed from wavering emotions. Bring me into that celestial communion with You that can only be realized in prayer. Nourish my soul with glimpses of heaven’s colorful banquet even as I sit at the table of this world in a landscape of gray. Under the mighty Word of truth found in Matthew 22:2-4 and the authority of Christ Jesus I humbly pray.
The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who gave a wedding feast
for his son, and sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding feast,
but they would not come.
Again he sent other servants, saying,
‘Tell those who are invited,
“See, I have prepared my dinner, my oxen and my fat calves have been slaughtered,
and everything is ready. Come to the wedding feast.”’
Matthew 22:2-4, ESV
