Is it true, my Lord and King? Does joy come in the morning even after seasons of weeping that feel interminably long? Show me how the joy of the Lord can be my strength when weakness infects me like an emotional plague as dark days carry on for far too long. Help me believe that the tears of my soul will ultimately be absorbed by the soaking of divine joy. I long to enter into the joy of my Master where pain is no more and confusion is displaced by eternal clarity. Cultivate in my heart the fruit of everlasting joy that is often brought forth from rocky soil. Lord, help me continue the Kingdom work You have assigned me by keeping my eyes fixed on the feast You lead me to. Teach me through the struggle. Mold me through the adversity. Use me to glorify Your great and mighty Name. For though my soul is drenched in tears, joy and gladness is found in Your presence. Teach me the lyrics of the new song You wish me to sing with my life by weaving the melancholic cords together with the sweet melody of heaven’s promises. Take the measure of my days, Lord God, and have great Kingdom impact. I delight in this truth – weeping may last for a night but joy comes in the morning. With my soul’s gaze fixated toward the dawn, I am strengthened in the hope You bring, Jesus. Under the mighty Word of promise in Psalm 30:1-5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in humble prayer.
I will exalt You, Lord,
for You lifted me out of the depths
and did not let my enemies gloat over me.
Lord my God, I called to You for help,
and You healed me.
You, Lord, brought me up from the realm of the dead;
You spared me from going down to the pit.
Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people;
praise His holy Name.
For His anger lasts only a moment,
but His favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:1-5, NIV
I delight in this truth – weeping may last for a night but joy comes in the morning–Amen!
