My soul belongs to Jesus. O LORD, my heart beats to the rhythm of Your will. You fill me with Your love, Your joy, Your peace- the gifts that come from Your living, abiding presence with me always. And my human mind cannot fathom it, O LORD – How can this fleshly being can be filled with Your heavenly contents? I know my flaws, LORD. I am closely acquainted with my sin. Yet my weakness, my unworthiness, does not stop You from filling me with Your Spirit. My desire is to be completely empty of myself so that Your power shines through me in its fullest capacity. I surrender to You, Jesus, as I trust You more and more each and every day. You, alone, provide the strength that I need at the moment that I need it. I know that on my own I am not adequate for the journey ahead. And I rejoice that Your Spirit is more than enough for me to be able to handle whatever the world throws my way. I have no confidence in myself. But You, my LORD and Savior, are the foundation on which I stand. Therefore I will not falter. When the sounds of life have faded, I will spend eternity with You. May there be moments when I can taste that promise by being alone with You. Let me seek Your face each day. When physical ailments render my body useless, let me worship You in strength. May I find fuel from Your Spirit inside of me when my body seems to be running on fumes. O LORD, my God, You are my source, my sustenance, my life. Under the blessed Word of 2 Corinthians 5:16-18 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.
From now on, therefore, we regard no one according to the flesh.
Even though we once regarded Christ according to the flesh, we regard Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;
