Today’s Prayer

My King, let me look to You at the opening and closing of each day and every moment in between. There is safety in hiding in You, my Lord. The daily storm does not frighten me because You are the anchor that steadies me in peace. Let me come to You, cleansed by the cross, relieved by grace, enveloped in love divine. Oh ears, do not be deafened to the call of Christ when the way before you is treacherously loud with temptation. Heed the way out by following His direction. Oh eyes, do not close in fright when the way appears blocked before you. He is the way, the One who will never leave you nor forsake you gives you power to move mountains. Lord, remind me of these things when my humanity overrides Your spirituality within me. Let me surrender fully to Your holy residence which guides, directs and comforts my inner being. I am Yours, Jesus. May this spark of devoted faith never be snuffed out. Lord, continue carrying me when my feeble feet fail to remain on the path of Your way. Under the mighty Word given in John 14:5-9 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.

Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we don’t know where You are going, so how can we know the way?” Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. If you really know Me, you will know My Father as well. From now on, you do know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know Me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
