Jesus, my Savior gifted of God to one as undeserving as me, I bow before Your holiness. Let me remain perpetually awed in gratitude for all You have given, God. Truly, the holy text of Your Word is the swaddling cloth that wraps my immature humanity in divine love. The scented perfume of grace wafts off those pages of divine counsel made manifest in Jesus Christ. For Your Word is His garment of flesh. Take me into the fold of the royal robes until truth becomes my inner breath. God, let me no longer breathe out lies of spiritual ignorance, but continuously instruct me in righteousness so that I might grow to Your reflection. Within the chronicles of my Savior’s earthly life let me catch the glimpses of my King so that I might better serve Him. Though my reasoning mind may not fully grasp the mystery of Your grand propitiation, let my heart rejoice in the romance of the incarnation. Opening Your Word, standing upon the floor of the gospels, is like drawing me into the depths of Your heart of perfect love. Keep me there, Lord, that I might live with You forever. Under the message of the Word of truth in Luke 2:10-12 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Luke 2:10-12, NIV
Take me into the fold of the royal robes until truth becomes my inner breath. God, let me no longer breathe out lies of spiritual ignorance, but continuously instruct me in righteousness so that I might grow to Your reflection–Amen!
