Today’s Prayer

Lord, I whole-heartedly lament every denial (whether inward as in thought or outward as in action or spoken word) of Your sovereign grace in my life. Your mercy alone has snatched me out of the jaws of the enemy. Your love displayed on the cross is my shield against the penetration of death’s fangs. Truly, my soul aligned with Your will is what keeps me warmed with the fires of inextinguishable faith. I am not nearly as grateful as I should be over the fact that You came as a friend of sinners, God. In the regenerative power of divine love, I have been transformed and invited into holiness. Before Your throne of majesty, I bow in humble adoration. Lord, keep me from kneeling before any other throne present within this culture. For the throne of wealth is as nothing compared to the riches of my inheritance in Christ. The throne of success is merely temporary compared to the eternal crown of life You have purchased for me. The throne of relationships are but a shadow compared to the everlasting bond I have in You, my Creator. Blessed be Your mighty Name, Lord, Your undeniable Name that turns every lament into perpetual joy. Under the Word of 1 Peter 1:3-4 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.
1 Peter 1:3-4, NIV
