Today’s Prayer

My Lord, can the blood red rose of salvation offer me hope in the dry afflictions of desert living? Or am I too consumed with finding my own source of water that I am blind to the well of living water Your presence has opened up to me? The sweet desert rain of unexpected blessing still soaks into the hardened ground, sustaining the roots of my faith in their brittle malnourished state. Jesus, I thank You for the wonderous light of Your love which brings my heart to its reaching potential. Let me stretch toward the eternal with each blooming of faith within me. Let my petals of belief soak in the glorious rays of Your sovereignty until I no longer fear the hard ground which I must traverse. Every desert has a boundary. Every hot day has to give way to the coolness of night. Lord, I will follow You wherever You lead me. It is Your hand that coaxes the blossom of faith to beautify the desert landscape. It is Your presence that draws out the fragrance of belief which covers the stench of adversity. Truly, Lord, make me into the lily of the valley You designed my soul to be. Under the Word of truth in Hebrews 2:3-4 and the authority of Christ I bow in prayer.

This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard Him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will.
Hebrews 2:3-4, NIV
