Today’s Prayer

My Father in heaven, I cry out to You from the fearsome pit where I am alone. Banish my fearful unbelief rooted in this lie. Holy Spirit, shake me awake to the truth of my Lord’s nearness. For His promise is my foundational ladder. His faithful un-changingness is my rescue. Remind me that HIs kindness shall never depart from those He loves. His mercy never fails. Use the mighty weapon of bringing such recollections of the Word into my heart when despair beckons me to forget. Wasn’t it You, Jesus, who said that the enemy could not pluck me from Your hand? Am I not the lost sheep that You diligently searched for? Forgive me, my Lord, for undermining the value Your love displayed on the cross – a love that overshadows fear and tramples my failures. I do not desire to grieve You with such blatant distrust. Truly, Your grace upholds me even in the pits of life. Let my heart not beat contrary to Your blessed promises that confirm I am not forgotten. Nothing is impossible for You, my great and wonderful King. Your arm can reach through the darkest mists of unbelief to coax my faith until it radiates with the light of Your truth once again. My Father in heaven, I thank You for hearing the utterance of my soul and responding in the power of saving grace. Because of that sweet mercy, I shall not fear. Under the Word given in Luke 1:37 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

For no word from God will ever fail.
Luke 1:37, NIV
