Today’s Prayer

Lord, diffuse the flames of my adulterous tendencies. To whom shall I go, Lord, when Yours are the very Words of life? Yet, the question presses on me as the culture of Babylonian temptation consistently assaults the borders of holiness and the boundaries of purity with which You have faithfully protected me. Inspire me with devotion that seeks Your heart and does not exploit my saving relationship with You in order to gratify my wild passions for independence or revenge. Rid me of my earth-based views until heaven’s perspective grants my faith the clarity of sight I need to walk upon the path of truth. Lord Jesus, unthread the fabric of my private ambitions and weave my soul into the tapestry of Your divine will. Let my flesh cry out for the Living God, the only One who can cleanse me from my sin. Awaken in me abiding cravings for the eternal until only the Bread of Life, the manna from heaven, found in Jesus takes away my hunger once and for all. Lord, You are my satisfaction and delight. I come to You and ask that You keep me by Your power. Cleanse my soul with Your holiness of Spirit. Under the Word of truth given in Romans 3:24-26 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in adoring prayer.

All are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of His blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—  He did it to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the One who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Romans 3:24-26, NIV
