To You, my Lord, I come when I am in need. For the enemy conspires against me. Every seed of truth planted in my heart is fodder for the prince of this world if I do not sit continually beneath the dew of heaven in Your presence and bask in the nourishing rain of love in Your Word. Let me rejoice in these spiritual disciplines which offer growth to my freshly tilled heart-soil. Take my carnal impulses, Lord, and weed them out of me. Clip my intentions until all that I do is for the purpose of Your glory. For through Your cleansing love, Your purifying peace, Your sanctifying stillness and Your divine deliverance I need not fear the enemy’s schemes. The garden of my soul is Your territory Lord. Only You can make it blossom in truth until my life permeates with the fragrance of Christ. Yours is the power and the Kingdom and the glory now and forever. Blessed be Your Name and renown. Under the canopy of the Word in John 15:1-3 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in humble prayer.
