Take me back to the beginning Lord, to the place we started. Help me retrace the steps until I come to the place where I got off track. Your nearness is my constant refuge, and yet I have put distance between us. Your peace surpasses any worldly pursuit, and yet I have become distracted by lesser things. How comforting is Your truth, my Lord. Truly, no temptation has overcome me that You have not provided me with a way out. Your Word is my sanctity. I will indeed rise in the healing wings of my Savior. Though I sin, I rest assured that You are my advocate with the Father, Jesus. My fallibility is not beyond Your reach. Your love purges me through the blood and washes me clean. I am fully aware of my weaknesses, Lord. I know Your grace upholds me both in them and despite them. Empower me to turn in repentance, Lord. Show me the place where I went off the path designated for me by Your divine will. Lead me to take that first step back in the right way. You are the way, the truth and the life. Through You the Father’s heart is reached. In You is where I belong. I thank You for Your nearness, Jesus. Under the beauty of the Word given in John 14:6-7 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in grateful prayer.
