Today’s Prayer

Your eternal power and divine nature are a wonder to behold. My heart tingles with new life at the hearing of Your Word, Lord God. Your voice quiets the tumultuous chaos of emotion that swirls inside me at times. Your presence is my reward. Your counsel is the soft pillow upon which my head rests during the night seasons. Your holiness is glorious, God. Let it radiate through those called by Your Name. Empower Your servant to reject the simple pleasures of this world and trade them for the complex treasures of Christ’s presence. Your wonders, O Lord, are lofty to behold. Let my eyes not set their gaze on lesser objects of primal passion when my passion is fully sanctified in You. Without You, I would melt in fear for the wrath that is my just reward. With You I find grace to sustain me in my weakness. Without You I would break beneath the pressure of life’s tragedies. With You I am refined in the midst of unbearable trials. Without You I am deaf and blind to what really matters. With You, Jesus, my eyes have been opened to see the majesty of heaven. My ears are tuned to the sweet praises of the eternal Kingdom. May love divine have its way in me, through me and around me now and always. Each breath I give to You, Lord. Only You know their full number. Under the power of the Word of God in Exodus 15:6-7 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Your right hand, O Lord, glorious in power,
    Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.
In the greatness of Your majesty You overthrow Your adversaries;
    You send out Your fury; it consumes them like stubble.
Exodus 15:6-7, ESV
