Today’s Prayer

Lord, my God, how great are all of Your mighty works. Your riches extend beyond the boundaries of human mathematics because Your love is multiplied in grace immeasurable. Your understanding crushes the boundaries of human reason. Lord, You know me better than I know myself because You made me with the tenderest touch from divine fingertips. Even my imagination belongs to You, God. Sanctify that space within me where thoughts emerge and make it holy. Truly, You can infuse the landscape of my soul with holy desires and divine thoughts warm from heaven. And even at my best I still cannot fathom Your immense love, Your perfection and Your greatness. How is it that You suffered and died to complete love’s perfect story upon the cross for those as unworthy as me? Your readiness to forgive far outmatches my ability to transgress. There is always room for me to love You more, Lord. You are beyond comparison and worthy of all praise. You, who is more willing to satisfy holy desires than I am to embrace them. You, who is eager to bestow blessing than I am to ask for it. Why do I resist the lavishness of Your love, Lord? Why is the sweet melody of salvation muted by my worldly passions and delights? You lead me beside the still waters, but I find reasons not to rest. Forgive me, Lord, for taking Your love for granted. There is no love greater than the passion You brought from heaven and have given me through my Savior. To know my Jesus, to be found in Him, this is joy; this is the life my soul has searched for. Oh Lord, bring a taste of heaven through the work You have assigned me on earth. Put in me a delightful perspective on eternity that never wanes. Let me hear the song of triumph and live in the melody of truth sung from Your Holy Word. Under the truth given in Psalm 92:4-5 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in prayer.

For You, O Lord, have made me glad by Your work;
    at the works of Your hands I sing for joy.
How great are Your works, O Lord!
    Your thoughts are very deep!
Psalm 92:4-5, ESV
