Today’s Prayer

Mighty God of all creation, the comfort manifested in Your eternal Word of truth stretches beyond the boundaries of my present reality and powerfully sanctifies my imaginative soul with dreams of everlasting bliss within the borders of Your Kingdom. I can feel the cleansing waters of purification rid me of worldly stains as I dive deep into the bottomless sea of Your infinite truth and perfect love. Gladly, I drink from the crystalline river of hope that never runs dry because its source is the living water of Christ Jesus. Like dust swept away in the wind, my earthly griefs evaporate and my blighted attempts to achieve satisfaction without You, Lord, are blown away. The mourning seasons of my heart will be over when at last I come into the fullness of Your salvation, Jesus. All fear has been entirely vanquished by love so bright that those who swell in Your forever no longer need the sun or the moon to guide them. Where You are, there is no more night, no more brokenness, no more poverty or filth, no more pain or sorrow. The trees will produce fruit without withering as Your chosen ones co-exist in the immortal blessedness that comes from Your heart, God. May every desire be filled in You as what is past slips away, vanishing beneath the astonishing beauty of Your completed will, Lord God. And yet, even my present ideas are nothing compared to that which You have prepared for those who love You. How great and awesome is Your mighty Name, Lord. Under the Word of truth in 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in adoring prayer.

But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love Him”—
these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

1 Corinthians 2:9-10, ESV
