Today’s Prayer

Truly, Lord Jesus, I find sweet rest in You. I find the power of healing through You whether my calamity is physical or spiritual. Let me remain strong and courageous because there is no sickness my great physician cannot cure. I trust myself to Your providence, God Almighty, knowing that You will be glorified by my present weakness. My faith is secure because I know that Your eyes are seeing the true wounds currently bringing my soul to despair and my body to weakness. With such intimate knowledge of my inner being, let the hands that created me also restore me. Truly, You are the One who owns my original design, Lord God. You are the One who can put together that which is broken. Your truth is a transcendent comfort for me, Jesus. Though I walk through the valley of death’s shadow, I am not walking alone. Whatever obstacle is set in my way on this eternal path, my focus is on You whose power knows no limit. So I come to Your side, my heart limping, my soul drained of energy and my mind fevered by fleshly distractions. What love is this that embraces my leprous estate until I am refreshed back into Your likeness! Under the mighty Word of God found in Psalm 41:2-4 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

The Lord protects and preserves them—
    they are counted among the blessed in the land—
    He does not give them over to the desire of their foes.
The Lord sustains them on their sickbed
    and restores them from their bed of illness.
I said, “Have mercy on me, Lord;
    heal me, for I have sinned against You.”
Psalm 41:2-4, NIV
