Today’s Prayer

Follow Me. The two simplest words of Your commands but often the toughest to completely obey. Lord, am I following You close enough? If I were, then the nearness of Your presence would calm me whenever insurmountable obstacles block the path. Lord, am I following You diligently? If I were, then the pitfalls would not come as such surprises because I would heed Your Spirit’s warning before I fall into them. Lord, am I following You with devoted steps? If I was, then I would not continually become distracted by the cares of this world. Jesus, am I following You with worshipping abandon? If so, I would not question You when You lead me into territory beyond the zone of comfort. I would not balk when You take me where I don’t want to go. If I truly follow You, Jesus, my heart will keep in step with Yours and love would overcome fear. If I truly follow You, my soul will be dressed in peace, not naked in its vulnerability to sin. If I follow You, my mind will center on the Holy Word You manifest in relationship with those You love. If I truly follow, I will find strength from You to never leave Your side. Follow Me. Let the invitational words create a transformation of love throughout my life. Show me where to go, Lord. Under the beauty of the Word in John 12:26 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him.
John 12:26, ESV
