Lord Jesus, I set my ardent affections on You because Your love is most precious to my soul. It is altogether magnetic and overwhelming. Your love strips me of the layers of hurt, betrayal, neglect and sorrow that compromise my true design of the soul. Despite my sinfulness You have gathered me in Your cleansing arms and covered me with Your sacrificial blood. Your love has ratified a new covenant of salvation, making null and void the covenant of death I had sealed with the enemy through his deceptive accusations. Jesus, forgive my ignorant betrayal of Your mighty truth. Why did I so willingly chase the lies, searching for satisfaction in a world with only temporary promise? Jesus, forgive my neglect. How could I let my thoughts linger so long on that which is only fleeting? Why settle for less than the treasure You offer? Jesus, I lay aside my worries and sorrow. You have imparted joy to my heart. You have made me well, nourished me with compassion and strengthened me with grace. Truly I have found the One my soul adores. May I never let go again.
