Trouble may abound, but I can take heart because You, my Savior, have overcome the world’s tribulations. My weaknesses are many, but I can rejoice because Your grace sustains me despite it all. Lord, let me not be deceived by the pain of internal wounds that feel as if they will never heal. There is no soul injury Your physician’s hands can’t tend to. If temptation attempts to gather me up in its net, You are the One who untangles my desires away from sin and tethers them to holiness. Jesus, You are the keeper of my future, the fixer of my past, and the guide in my present. I do not want to step away from You in an effort to move toward something else no matter how enticing it might be. Keep my steps perfectly in line with Yours, Lord. Tether my heart to Yours so that I cannot stray beyond Your blessings. Encompass me in love divine that holds me when I am weary and warms me when I have grown cold. Lord, let me take heart in faith that reminds me I am Yours. Under the mighty Word of truth in John 16:33 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning Me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with Me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting Me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart!
