My God and my Lord, I come to You for refuge. The wolves of discontent encircle my heart, provoking me to ingratitude. Fretfulness plagues me at the consistent threats of accusation assaulting me from the enemy. Why should I envy those who appear secure in the lap of worldly luxury, Lord? I have You, the eternal treasure that does not fade like grass or wither like a flower. My heart rests secure because my trust is in my Savior. I need not fear the accusations that have no power over me. Jesus, Your righteousness is my refuge. Truly ,my soul’s delight can rest on nothing else. Lord, enhance the faithfulness that burns like a fire within me. Let it consume all discontent and distracting noise. My way is committed to You. Therefore, I will be still and wait for You to guide me toward the abundance of peace. Should You desire to give me little or much, let me find contentment in Your presence, Lord. Should You desire to bring me trial or blessing, let me find contentment in Your teaching. Hold my heart, Jesus. Protect it from the ravenous wolves that encircle me and the crafty serpent that assaults me. May all my fears vanish because I am a child of God. Under the Word of the Lord found in Isaiah 40:8 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
