My Father in heaven, possess me with holiness that I might not sin against You. My soul rushes toward You for solace and redemption. But my flesh is bent toward hellish pursuits like a moth looking for light only to be consumed by flames. Jesus, You are the light of the world. Dim my heart’s eyes to all lesser lights, all false illumination that only leads to death. In Your presence I find a stronghold of truth that offers protection from deceit. The lies may assail me, but they will not prevail against the belt You have girded me with, Lord. My confidence remains anchored to the cross. My joy reaches past the veil of hopelessness and into the hope of eternity. For one day my dwelling will be secure in the house of the Lord where beauty will replace battle and acceptance will replace questions. I will rest in the arms of the beloved who has hidden me in the day of trouble. Let my heart give thanks to the One who listened to my cries and adopted me under the binding covenant of love. Lord, You did not hide Your face from me despite the abhorrent condition of my soul. You have been my help, the One who took me in when all others turned away. Jesus, keep Your servant set apart so that I am no longer of this world even though I am in it. Father, possess me with holiness. Under the Word of God given in 1 John 3:1 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in prayer.
See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him.
1 John 3:1, NIV
My confidence remains anchored to the cross. My joy reaches past the veil of hopelessness and into the hope of eternity–Amen!
