Father, I come to You in full awareness that the flickering flame of my faith might surely go out beneath the winds of deception blowing across the land. The enemy comes to destroy and lay waste the landscape of my heart’s garden. He wants to turn the thriving beauty of my internal land into a scene of destruction and desolation. Help me keep the gates of my heart and soul closed to such influence, Lord. Let me not grow careless on beseeching You for the strength I need. You, Jesus, are the author of my faith and the preserver of my salvation. Sustain the lamp of my soul with the oil of Your divine love. May I come into Your presence daily for the abundant supply which will keep faith’s flame burning bright. For You, my Savior, uphold this world and all that is in it. By Your mighty hand You keep the enemy at bay, holding him back so that he does not inflict damage contrary to Your will. Lord, maintain me by Your Spirit because You are my defender. Shield the flickering flame of my wavering faith, Lord. Only You can lift my drooping head and move me safely against the winds of deception blowing across the lands. Guide me and uphold me in Your truth. Under the Word of God given and treasured in John 8:31-32 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
