Today’s Prayer

You are able, my Lord God Almighty. Able to turn my impoverished heart into a palace of grace. Able to exchange my loneliness for peace in Your abiding presence. Able to empty me of all fleeting desires for monies belonging only to this world in order to give my soul an eternal inheritance in the wealth of heaven. So let my heart not be troubled by the economic struggles which trigger anxious concerns. Instead, let me be wooed by the contenting sweetness of immersion in Your Word and all the riches truth offers therein. Lord God, You are more than provider. You are comforter and friend. You are my giver of wisdom and my solace from fear. Have I any need that You are not fully aware of? Have I any concern or lack that goes unnoticed by Your heart? For You see all things and You know all that vexes my easily distracted mind. So I thank You for thrilling my weary soul. I thank You for giving my heart reason to rejoice in the midst of trials and temptations. In You, Jesus, I have been given worth. In You my value is finally measured with divine mercy. Each day is sufficient, Lord, because it has been granted to me by You. Whether in poverty or riches, let me be content in Your presence. Holy Spirit of the Living God, augment my love and adoration for the Savior of my soul. Under the Word in Matthew 6:24 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.
Matthew 6:24, NASB
