Today’s Prayer

Lord, let Your people adore You this Christmas season. As we admire the dazzle of presents beneath the tree, let our hearts be more deeply enamored by Your presence on the tree of the cross. May we rejoice in the gift of salvation that keeps on giving through the power of Your immeasurable grace. As our fiery faith bursts into adoring flame, make Your servants mindful of sharing the gift with others in our path. Father, open up the patience of hope for those called by Your Name. Unwrap the kindness of peace within the hearts of Your followers. For Your peace is so unlike the world’s, Lord. Your peace quiets a troubled heart and assures the frightened soul. May the glory of eternal joy be lifted out of the box which we routinely put You in, God, when we forget to pray for the lost because we are so concerned with our present troubles. Above all else, Lord, may the gift of love so magnificently displayed on the cross be ours to keep so that we can share it. For You delight in the re-gifting of Your love. Lord, may Your servants lift up prayer that those who have only heard of Your gift would truly open it this season. And may we continue in gratitude for the perpetual inheritance granted us in Christ – a display of love freely given and the only gift a soul truly needs. Thank You Jesus for saving Your people from their sins. Under the Word of holy truth given in Matthew 1:20-21 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

“Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.”
Matthew 1:20-21, NASB
