Today’s Prayer

My Lord enhance my faith with unflinching devotion as I approach the majesty of Your Word with my thirsty heart. Truly You have led me by the Spirit to a fount of Living Water. May Your Word come up out of the pages of Scripture as morning dew falls from heaven to wet barren land. My heart is in need of truth’s moisture, God. Without it, I grow cracked and brittle. Without You, Jesus, nothing grows inside of me. Let the vividness of Your Word illuminate the darkness of my circumstances. You are the way, Jesus. May the power of Your truth grant me strength needed to overcome the paralysis of my weakness. Truly the freshness of Your love wafts off every page with the fragrance of Christ. My downcast soul cannot help but smile when the promises of my God tickle my heart. May Your mighty voice resound like thunder, Lord, until the condemning voice clamoring for attention is silenced. Your Word is a balm to my wounds and a healing draught for my sickness of soul. May Your servants not neglect meeting with You between the Holy pages. Under the beauty of the Word given in Psalm 119:41-48 and the authority of Christ I pray.

Let Your love, God, shape my life with salvation, exactly as You promised; Then I’ll be able to stand up to mockery because I trusted Your Word. Don’t ever deprive me of truth, not ever— Your commandments are what I depend on. Oh, I’ll guard with my life what You’ve revealed to me, guard it now, guard it ever; And I’ll stride freely through wide open spaces as I look for Your truth and Your wisdom; Then I’ll tell the world what I find, speak out boldly in public, unembarrassed. I cherish Your commandments—oh, how I love them!— relishing every fragment of Your counsel.
