Today’s Prayer

My Lord, let my espoused love for You never grow cold. Keep Your loved one from forgetting the powerful initiation of abiding devotion. The fires of my zeal are prone to die out beneath the shadows of familiarity and the breeze of routine. Let it not be so, Lord. Protect those holy embers so that love burns bright through my faith in You all the way to my final day, my last breath. You have done such a great and mighty work for someone as undeserving as me. Let me not doubt You will finish what has been started. You wooed me with love, drew me out of my wilderness wandering, gave me the gift of faith, and taught me truth. Mutterings of selfish desire no longer pull me away from You. Your work on the cross dealt with my sin and resolved the issue of punishment. Where no good thing could grow, the light of Your grace and nourishment of Your Living Water planted holiness. My God, let me glorify You with gratitude undergirded by love divine. Only You could have made hope blossom in my soul. Only You could bring forth the grain of peace. Only You could harvest faith from a reckless heart. Thank You, Lord, that Your love is relentless. Keep the fiery zeal of my response to Your love burning bright with authentic faith. Under the Word given in Hebrews 12:29 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

Do you see what we’ve got? An unshakable kingdom! And do you see how thankful we must be? Not only thankful, but brimming with worship, deeply reverent before God. For God is not an indifferent bystander. He’s actively cleaning house, torching all that needs to burn, and He won’t quit until it’s all cleansed. God himself is Fire!
