Today’s Prayer

At Your feet, let the Word of wisdom fall like dew upon the parched soil of my heart, Lord Jesus. Help me to choose that which is better when life’s myriad demands attempt to steal me away from my sacred position kneeling before You. Only in proximity to Your blessed holiness is my bitter soul alleviated from its distress. When the wormwood of trouble assails me, it is the wood of the cross that sweetens the affliction because I know that You use all things for my soul’s benefit. When the delights and pleasures of this world become too much of a distraction, it is the holy reminder of Your testifying Spirit that pulls me back toward You, where my true delight is rooted and pleasures are found forevermore. It does not matter where I am located as long as I remain positioned at Your feet, Jesus. The mountain vista of blessing is lovely but let me not stand and live away from You to admire it. The valleys of life can be fraught with challenges. But let me not seek out a cave in which I can hide from affliction if You are not there with me. Only upon Your wings of saving grace can my soul soar to new heights, Lord Jesus. Only beneath Your wings of mercy can my wretched heart find solace. May nothing keep me from the holy interaction taking place at Your feet, Lord Jesus. Keep me there, content to choose the better way. Under the mighty Word of God in Luke 10:41-42 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

Jesus answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her.”
Luke 10:41-42, WEB
